CONSULTATION SERVICES IN COUNSELLING FOR BRAIN INJURY SURVIVORS

I am also an experienced trainer and clinical supervisor and I have written many bespoke courses to help professionals in health and social care be effective with clients who are having difficulties with the effects of acquired brain injury or psychological trauma - or both. One of my specialisms is in the rehabilitation of sexuality and sexual functioning following brain injury as this is an area of rehabilitation that sometimes gets overlooked. All interventions taught are based in many years of using these interventions with clients and can be put into introduced into day to day practice. 

A consultation service is available to tailor the training to the needs of a particular client. In the case of clients living with acquired brain injury it is my regular practice to meet with the person to get their own views on the concerns held by people who are supporting them. This upholds the principle of person-centred approaches and the 2005 Mental Capacity Act.

I offer individual and group clinical supervision and have experience of providing this in organisational contexts in the statutory and voluntary sectors. This includes supervision of individual, couple and family work.
